In-Person - Tuesday, 9/14 | Wednesday, 9/15 | Thursday, 9/16

  • 10:00 AM: Booths open to students. Check out the available opportunities in each company booth to prepare early, and plan ahead.
  • 4:00 PM: Event ends.

Virtual - Thursday, 9/16 | Friday, 9/17

  • 10:00 AM: Students can enter Brazen website to view all opportunities.
  • 10:00 AM: Booths open to students.
  • 4:00 PM: Event ends.

Important advice on navigating the career fair.


To-Do

  1. Create an account on this website to register for the in-person event. This will allow us to print your name tag, which is required to enter the career fair.
  2. Create an account on Brazen to register for the virtual event.
  3. Upload your resume (*optional*) to ResumeBook so companies can find you before/after they attend.
  4. Come to one of our pre-check times ot pick up your name tag. Your name tag is your ticket into the career fair.
  5. Show up, and put your best foot forward as a Hokie!

Tips

  • Bags are not allowed into the career fair or surrounding areas. We will have a bag-check location in the Squires BreakZone.
  • Arrive early and plan out your visit. Remember that lines grow longer later in the day.
  • We have companies in Commonwealth Ballroom.
  • We do not share additional employer or recruiter information. It is up to you to get their contact information at the career fair.

Interviews

  • Interviews are normally held on Deitrick Field, although some employers may schedule interviews elsewhere. Please clarify this with the recruiter before your interview.
  • You do not need to check in at Deitrick Field. A recruiter will call your name when they are ready for you.
  • We will not talk to a company for you if you miss your time slot so arrive 15 minutes early!

Virtual FAQ

    1. Will there be a time limit per recruiter?
      • Yes. The limit is 10 minutes. Times may be extended at the recruiter’s discretion.
    2. Will we be able to see how long the wait time will be per company?
      • Yes.
    3. Will the "wait line" be based on a first come first serve basis?
      • Short answer: yes. Companies can elect to enable “SmartQueue” which will automatically sort their line based on the company’s desired credentials; however, SmartQueue will never turn down a student from talking to a recruiter.
    4. Is this 1:1 session by video chat or just through texting?
      • All chats will begin as 1:1 text chat, and all companies have access to video chat feature so a video chat can be started anytime the company wishes to have one.
    5. Will interviews still be the following days after expo?
      • All companies that are attending Virtually will set up interviews at the company's discretion so please follow up with your recruiter after the event.
    6. Will there be a demo video or tutorial on how to use Brazen?
      • Yes! We will provide you with as much information as possible leading up to the event. Look out for information on an Expo Prep event headed by the SEC, and stay in touch with our social media and email listserv for live updates.
    7. Will we know what employment type the companies will be hiring?
      • Yes. This information is available at expo.sec.vt.edu and will be available in each company booth.Yes. The limit is 10 minutes. Times may be extended at the recruiter’s discretion.
    8. Are freshmen allowed at this event, and do we have to register in advance?
      • Yes & yes! Registration links will be sent out closer to the date of the event. We’ll send out a schedule in the coming weeks.
    9. When will the information of times and what companies are attending be published?
      • Attending companies are automatically published as they register. For an updated list of companies check out expo.sec.vt.edu.
